Purpose of this Application
This
application is only for the purpose of establishing the applicant’s position on
a “Ranked Pool” of eligible applicant’s.
The Applicant’s position in the pool of eligible applicants shall be
determined by the tabulation of merit points.
These merit points are awarded based on the established ranking
criteria.
Required Documentation
The
Applicant is responsible for providing verifiable documentation for ALL Program
Minimum Requirements and any additional “Ranking Points”. These documents should be included with the
original application however; they must be received by the close of business on
the 15th of June to be considered.

Being an electrician
is a physical job. Electricians may work in conditions that are extremely
hot, cold, dirty, wet or cramped.
In general, an electrician may perform any of the following duties:
* Reading blueprints
* Installing electrical components to architectural and building code
specifications
* Running wires through conduit
* Testing wiring connections with test equipment like volt/ohmmeters and
oscilloscopes
* Test or repair electrical based equipment
* Work closely with engineers, general contractors or architects

APPLICATIONS PROCESS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
If the Algebra course listed on your transcripts was labeled something else (IE: MATH 2), a letter from the school indicating that the class is equivalent to Algebra will be required. The letter must be signed and on official school letterhead.
NOTE: A valid driver’s license may be required upon obtaining employment. Some employers may also require substance abuse testing.
THE FOLLOWING IS USED TO DETERMINE A RANKING SCORE FOR
PLACEMENT (Possible 326
points)
All classes submitted for review must have transcripts and a passing grade to be considered in the ranking process. These classes include, but are not limited to:
Algebra II Blueprint Reading Wood Shop Electrical Related
Geometry Drafting Welding National Electrical Code
Trigonometry Carpentry Integer math CAD Classes
Pre-apprenticeship Programs and/or Trade Schools –
Certificate of Completion and Transcript is required.
Electrical Construction, Construction and Electrical Supplier Experience – This experience needs to be documented on company letterhead signed by the employer.
ALL documents in a foreign language must be officially translated in the above format, indicating the amount and type of experience. Please be specific. ALL DOCUMENTS that are unreadable or unclear to the AREA III Committee will not be credited.
Notes:
(1) Successful completion of one year of high school algebra with a “C” or better is required. The only acceptable equivalent is as follows or the following equivalent: a college algebra course equivalent to high school algebra with a grade of “C” or better. If the required course work was completed more than five (5) years prior to application, the applicant will also be required to document current math skills prior to being scored and ranked and prior to being eligible for employment.
(2) Individuals who meet the math requirement listed in Section II of this standard will qualify for placement into the pool of eligible applicants. However, they will not be eligible to be scored, ranked, and placed in employment until they:

Achieve
a score on a Lane Community College Math Placement test with results allowing
entry into MTH 70 or higher; or
o
Submit documentation that a high school or equivalent
algebra course has been completed since the original application.
